Sheryl Jimerson, CPA, MBA, EA

Sheryl Jimerson is the founder and managing member of JTA.  Her aim is to work as your trusted advisor to determine the best solutions for your unique needs, then leverage her two decades of experience to achieve the best possible results for you. She believes in meeting face-to-face and cultivating a partnership with each of her clients.

Sheryl is a Texas-licensed Certified Public Accountant.  Prior to her Texas license, she was a certified public accountant with the State of Delaware. Additionally, she is federally-licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent (EA).   EAs are the only federally-licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.  As such she may represent taxpayers before the IRS when it comes to collections, audits, and appeals.

Sheryl has taught tax and accounting courses at the college level for several years. She was honored with the TXCPA Outstanding Accounting Educator Award in 2018.

Sheryl is a board member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA) in which she also serves on the Relations with the IRS committee. She serves on the Diversity and Inclusion and Circular 230 Practitioner committees of the Houston chapter of TXCPA. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). She is a member of the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce and Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She is a board member for AVANCE Houston and an active volunteer with her church and other nonprofit organizations in the Houston area.
